Living Close to Nature – Important to Know :

SHIVAYA is nestled deep in the forest at 0.0 meters from Chauli Ki Jaali, with panoramic views of the Nanda Devi, Trishul and Panchachuli ranges. Living here is magical — but it comes with a few natural realities:

❄️ Winters (Dec–Feb)

  • Temperatures drop below 0°C, especially at night.
  • We provide electric blankets and room heaters in every room.
  • Due to high demand in this region, voltage may fluctuate — we request your understanding.
  • Please carry warm layers and winter essentials.
  • Do not raise complaints for temperature drops or voltage variations. This is part of mountain life, and we all adapt together.

🌧️ Monsoon (July–Aug)

  • Occasional heavy rainfall may make roads slippery.
  • Our region has no history of landslides, thanks to strong forest cover and stable rock formations.
  • However, insects, flies, spiders, and occasionally scorpions may appear (in summer & monsoon both).
  • We are guests in their forest — not the other way around. Please avoid panicking, don’t shout, and maintain calm. Our staff is trained to handle such situations.
